It’s Okay - Letter to artist, creatives and entrepreneurs

Dear Artist, Creatives & Entrepreneurs,

It's Okay. It's okay to not be the best at this very moment. It's okay to not have it all figured out and it's okay for things not to be the way you want. Life isn't a sprint nor was it ever supposed to be. The only person you were ever meant to be was yourself. Don't let the fraudulent reality of Social media deter you. Don't let the followers and likes thwart you. Listen to yourself and be in tune. The game has always been about longevity and self sufficiency, not about who get's their the quickest with the most things handed.

In the end I want you to be able to stand on your own. Don't be closed off to building with people but also understand that everyone won't meet your criteria. Try new things but don't get caught up in the waves of mass hysteria. Take a break, rest and please BREATHE!! It's okay to step outside and take in the air, it's okay to walk around and it's okay to not be 100% all the time. Retreat from social media, retreat for self peace, retreat for mental fortitude. Meditate and learn to love yourself. Consistency isn't in going full speed everyday, it's about not quitting. You can still be consistent if yesterday you did 85% and today you can only do 35%, just don't stop. What ever that thing is you wanted to do, start it even if you don't finish it right now. There will never be a "perfect time". It's okay to move forward. I believe you don't always have to wait on God because sometimes he waits on us. He wants you to dream big and be passionate, because he put those dreams inside of you. Allow him to take over, and give you direction.

Let yourself take in all the things you have accomplished thus far, because you've dreamed and you've began and that's half the battle. It's okay to pivot if things don't work and it's okay to try something new. It's okay to not finish that book, or decide that you don't want to start that business. Every idea may not be that million dollar business and that's fine. Enjoy the process, it teaches you something even if you don't realize it. You are an inspiration and you may not even know it. You can do unrealistic things but set short , attainable and realistic goals to get you to the next level. Don't overwhelm yourself it's okay to turn down clients or projects. Remember you are not alone, it's others out here just like you; find them. Learn your business but also enjoy your business because it's your truth and your expression to life. In the end it's okay to be you, be confident in that and hold on. Tough times don't last but tough people do.

with encouragement,

Ahmad Rashad
