Walk us through your background- Tell us more about you and what you do

I am Matrix P an artist (rapper/singer) from Belmont,NC, a rural town outside of Charlotte. I started seriously doing music around 2015 when I decided to fuse my love of southern rap and gospel music together calling it Kuntry Hippy rap.

What inspires you?

My family inspires me.

What are some of the obstacles you've faced and how has it made you better?

Coming from a small town (Belmont,NC) trying to convince people to take my music and style serious.

What do you think makes your music different from other artist?

Growing up in the church I was always in the choir so I add a gospel element to all my music such as a harmonies, live instrumentation or a choir.

It's important to give yourself credit; What do you feel is/are your biggest accomplishment(s) to date?

I’ve been on television numerous times, I performed on 85 South show with DC young fly and Karlous Miller. Different radio stations and college sports play my music. I performed around the nation.

What are some things that you still want to accomplish?

More People listening and loving my music is the only thing i want to accomplish. Everything else will follow.

What new music do you have coming up?

I’m currently working on my new album.There is no release date set.

What do you want people to takeaway from your music?

I just want people to feel good while their listening to my music.

Finally, If you had a message to give to any artist coming behind you, what would it be?

Don’t stop! Be yourself, their is no one that can do you better than you.Even if people feel your not good at first and you feel no one likes your music. Someone does, find them and make music for them. Never overlook an opportunity big or small you never know what it could turn out to be.
